What is the Livery Designer?
Livery Designer lets you repaint trains or rolling stock by starting with a blank slate, then applying a base layer and decals. Let your creativity run wild, but we kindly ask players to avoid the use of copyrighted material.
When you design a new livery, you are creating a livery for a specific formation depicted within the editor. If you or another train uses a larger or different configuration of that formation in Timetable Mode, your design may not cover the whole train or appear as it did in the editor.
How do I access the Livery Designer?
- Select (Main Menu > Creators Club > Livery Designer)
- Then choose a train or rolling stock to paint.
- Select Add New and give the livery a name, description
- Then, decide whether you want the livery to be active for use on AI trains in Timetable Mode.

Changing side
You can change which side you are painting by using these four icons.
Adding a Decal
- Select Add New, then chose a decal from the available categories.
- Then, you have 3 tabs to control the positioning of the decal and the camera.
- Below this, you will have additional options for resetting any changes, or adjusting how and where the decal is applied.
- Once you have confirmed the position of the decal, you click on that layer to see additional options.
- From here we can...
- Edit the layer
- Duplicate the layer
- Change the order of this layer. Moving it in front or behind of another layer will change how it appears.
- Delete the layer
- Select and group with other layers (Press Q/Y/Triangle to Group selected layers)
- It is possible to copy any layer or group to another car by pressing V/X/Square.
- For more advanced techniques, try combining textures and shapes.
