Florida Tri-Rail: Miami Airport - Boca Raton Route Add-On
All Aboard for the Sunshine State! Ride the rails of Florida for the first time in Train Sim World 7. Take charge of Tri-Rail services under the dramatic coastal sun, and carry cargo with CSX power, as you surf through South Florida between bustling Miami Airport, and Fort Lauderdale to Boca Raton.
Starting life as part of CSX’s Miami Subdivision, the rails of South Florida first played host to Tri-Rail services in 1989, adding a regular commuter flow through the suburbs north of Miami. Initially only a temporary measure while I95 was widened, ridership numbers demanded the service be made permanent. With many upgrades over time, including line doubling and station rebuilds, the line now serves around 30,000 passengers a day.
In Train Sim World 7, become an engineer or conductor aboard Tri-Rail services through the commuter-heavy corridor of South Florida. Climb up to the cabs of modern and iconic diesels, in tandem with double-deck equipment, to shuttle passengers from Boca Raton, via Fort Lauderdale to Miami Airport. Swap the seats for hefty tonnage and embark on local freight duties as a CSX engineer, switch cars and make local deliveries through the Miami suburbs.

Tri-Rail’s fleet of GP49H-3s were introduced as rebuilt ex-Norfolk Southern units, upgrading them with Head End Power to be put to use on their daily commuter schedule out of Miami. Half a dozen entered service in 2006, although with the later arrival of the BL36PH, they have been gradually phased out, kept on the side for maintenance use and as a backup to the main roster.
In Train Sim World 7, take control of the iconic “Geep”, deputizing on Tri-Rail passenger services in place of more modern equipment, adding retro power and a classic cab to the commuter sprawl of South Florida. Also haul extra traffic, such as ballast trains, as the demand of the railroad requires.

Common Purchasing Issues
Why can't I see the Deluxe/Ultimate Edition in my library?
Everyone will get the same base game in their library no matter which bundle is purchased. Purchasing a different bundle will only affect which add-ons are included.
The base game is known as “Train Sim World 7: Free Starter Edition” and this will be how it appears in your library.
Why doesn’t the game show as “owned” on the store page after launch?
If you pre-ordered the game, you will have ordered the game from a different store page, which is swapped out when the game launches. Therefore, making it appear like you no longer own the game.
Rest assured, you still own the pre-order version of the game which is functionally the same as the launch version as it uses the same files. This will remain in your library like any other purchase and be re-downloadable using your platforms regular download instructions.

Gameplay Questions
What is Freight Hauler?
Freight Hauler is a brand-new game mode that allows players to freely move freight around their favourite routes.
Freight cars will be randomly distributed across the route awaiting delivery to their destination. You can freely spawn locos and move around the route by setting a path to get the job done any way you see fit. The in-game map will provide you with detailed information about each freight car, which can also be viewed as a floating tooltip in-game.
New routes have been optimised to work with Freight Hauler mode by disabling freight layers and will be marked as compatible. Older timetables will still work, but we recommend that you manually disable freight layers for a smoother experience. If a train does end up in your way, you can simply remove it using the provided free roam tools.
What are Beginner Controls?
Beginner controls are an excellent choice for players wanting a more casual experience or an easy way to jump in and play for the first time. This will completely remove the need for setting up the cab and instead allow you to focus on the driving experience.
This can be enabled by selecting Beginner mode when starting the game for the first time or via a toggle in the settings menu, outside of normal gameplay.
For players wanting a more realistic experience, those options will still be there, and beginner controls will have no impact on your gameplay.
Beginner controls can be used with a mouse and keyboard or a controller. This will be supported by a new simplified interface allowing access to frequently used controls via a mouse click or button press.
All trains will be compatible at launch using simplified physics and sound. Legacy tutorials and scenarios will not be compatible.
Beginner controls offer new players an easier first step into Train Simulation games, later allowing them to progress onto realistic controls if they wish to.
What is Live Weather and how do I use it?
When connected to Dovetail Live you will be able to select “Live Weather” as an option in configurable game modes. This will periodically refresh the weather conditions in-game with the current real-world conditions that will seamlessly transition into view.
How will Mastery be changing in Train Sim World 7?
Monthly mastery challenges will continue to take place and reward players with unlockable posters that can be viewed in-game.
However, we’ve made the decision to end challenges for new routes, to focus on a more seasonal approach.
Mastery challenges for existing routes will remain in place and you can contribute progress towards these challenges in any compatible game, on any supported platform.
Technical Questions
What are Epic settings? (PC Only)
High-end PC owners can now push Train Sim World’s graphics further than ever before with Epic Settings. We designed these settings to get the best image quality out of the game with no comprises. Pop-in will be a thing of the past with extended draw distances, increased LOD range, and extended shadows.
As such, these settings are not suitable for low-mid range hardware, and we recommend using a Nvidia RTX 5070/AMD RX 9070 at a minimum. Performance will vary from route to route depending on asset density and tree cover.
Settings are individually configurable, so you are free to prioritize what’s most important to you. Upscaling can also help to offset performance differences when in GPU constrained situations. While frame generation can make the overall presentation appear smoother in motion.
When using DLSS, Nvidia Smooth Motion can be enabled through the Nvidia app. Whereas Frame Generation can be enabled in-game when used with FSR.
What is Enhanced lighting? (PC Only)
Enhanced lighting is a separate toggle that adjusts the lighting profile of the game to create a more balanced and striking image. Made in cooperation with community modder JetWash, indirectly areas now appear darker, and objects more naturally blend into the scenery with subtle shading adjustments. On top this, light rays will now filter through the trees, and other scenery giving the scene added depth and atmosphere. Best of all, these changes have little-to-no performance impact.
What is upscaling and how does it improve the game? (PC Only)
DLSS 4.5 and FSR 4 allow the game on PC to take a lower resolution input and reconstruct it back up to the native resolution of your monitor using machine learning. This will boost image clarity, increase perceived detail, and reduce ghosting/shimmering on sub-pixel detail. All together it makes for a much cleaner image and more pleasing image.
At the high end this will provide DLAA and Native AA which will provide the best image quality without reducing the internal resolution.
However, the technology is scalable to suit a wide range of graphics cards, allowing you to reduce the quality preset for better performance in GPU constrained situations.
Doing this reduces the load on your graphics card, meaning it will produce less heat and consume less energy. This works in a similar way to how resolution scaling worked with TAA, but with significantly better results.
What is Frame Generation? (PC Only)
Frame Generation on PC can make motion appear smoother by interpolating generated frames between those rendered by the graphics card natively. This will increase input latency and may result in minor visual artifacts, but the results are often convincingly smooth. The higher your base frame rate the less noticeable artifacts will be. When coupled with a frame rate limit you can consistently hit without frame generation, you can often double your perceived frame rate.
What is DirectX 12 and how does it improve the game? (PC Only)
DirectX is the interface that allows the game to talk with your graphics card on PC. In Train Sim World 7 DirectX 12 will become the default, allowing for greater efficiencies, and compatibility with newer hardware. In some cases, this can also boost your average frame rate.
How does adjustable FOV impact the experience?
Adjusting the FOV (Field of View) can help you see more of your surroundings and can reduce feelings of motion sickness. FOV will be scalable from 60 to 120 degrees.
Have the system requirements for Train Sim World 7 changed? (PC Only)
No, our Minimum and Recommend system requirements remain the same. However, it will take more powerful hardware to take advantage of the new Epic Settings.
